Barb Winsor

Barb Winsor

Barb grew up in a lively, colorful household, where she was encouraged to express herself. She learned the art of decorating and entertaining from her stylish mother.

Barb married an Englishman whose 17th century cottage opened her world to antiques and romantic gardens, falling in love with the countrysides soft hues of blues and greens.

They travelled extensively through England and France, curating their collection and style for their store Winsor Antiques. Barb developed a keen color sense, which led her to designing color stories and decorating clients homes.

In the 90's Barb put herself out of her comfort zone, and studied botanical drawing at the NY Botanical Gardens. It was through that experience she was commissioned to design a wine label for Sonoma winemaker Jeff Cohn, for one of his specialty vineyards called Rockville Vineyard, Buffalo Hill wine.

Since then Barb has studied at the Silvermine Art College in Norwalk, and concentrated on her love of abstract painting. Creating complex color pallets for each piece is most exciting for her. Large canvas pieces are her passion, where she has no restrictions. She likes feeling free to create using many different methods and materials.

Barb and her husband reside in Black Rock Ct, on the water, where she draws inspiration from everyday!
