British born/American artist Jason Pritchard is best known for his landscape and seascape oil paintings of New England. He was recently selected by Cape Cod Life Art Magazine as one of the 2020 Emerging Artists of the Cape Cod /New England Region.
His atmospheric painted scenes capture a sense of space and connection to the North East coastal region of the USA that he loves and works with. His paintings focus on the elements of the outdoors, capturing the seasonal hues and weather conditions emphasized by an unfolding impressionistic skyline.
A keen drawer from an earlier age, he honed his skills through taking life drawing classes in South London. before he moved to the US in 2005 and studied at the Art Students League of New York where he began painting in oils. He now lives in Connecticut, where he paints the local beaches, inlets and coastal scenery of New England. He has exhibited work in New York City, Long Island and his home region of Connecticut. He is a member of Art/Place Gallery in Fairfield, CT where his work is regularly displayed.
