John Lazzaro is a photographer, author, and documentary filmmaker based on the north shore of Long Island. He holds a B.A. in English and Film Studies from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in Interactive Media from Quinnipiac University. An artist member of the The Firefly Artists Gallery in Northport, NY, Lazzaro has exhibited his work at the Salmagundi Art Club, fotofoto gallery, Alex Ferrone Gallery, Praxis Gallery, Long Island Photo Gallery, and the Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild as well asUntapped New York and The New York Post. During his filmmaking career, Lazzaro has written and directed six documentary shorts that screened at film festivals in 12 different states. His latest book, A Vanishing New York, explores the last remaining abandoned sites in the Empire State. Lazzaro works exclusively in digital photography, editing with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and primarily displays his photography in white frames with historical descriptions, giving his work a museum-like presentation.
