Stephanie Hilton

Stephanie Hilton's love for watercolor painting was born many years ago after seeing a very memorable Maurice Prendergast exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her career at the time was that of an advertising art director, so there were  lots of opportunities to visit the museums of NYC. She was also lucky enough to study at the School of Visual Arts..

Stephanie loves bold and beautiful colors, and will most often paint from her own photos, or those of her daughters. Besides traditional watercolor paintings,  she occasionally weaves different paintings together as one,  creating a different kind of art altogether. Additionally, Stephanie sometimes incorporates natural materials like small stones, shells and pebbles into her work, often taken from the spot that she is painting.

Favorite destinations like Maine, the Connecticut shoreline, the Florida Keys and Aruba appear frequently in her work.

Stephanie paints and weaves the places that she love and hopes that feeling of joy is conveyed to the viewer.
