I began drawing and painting as a child and continued to do so through my life. My career, however, is in computer science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. I am a technopreneur, I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. Although I have never attended any art school, I read widely on drawing and painting techniques, and I also like to read books about famous artists and study their works. I feel that the most wonderful thing about art is the capability of transforming mundane subjects into beautiful and awe-inspiring paintings. As a self-taught artist, my painting techniques are mainly formulated through trial and error. I would like to consider myself as an impressionistic realist. I like to combine strong brushstrokes to express feeling of movement with sufficient details to make my work convincingly realistic.
